Risk Assessments

At the 12th Stafford Scout Group, the safety and well-being of our members are at the heart of everything we do. To ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and controlled manner, we have developed a comprehensive set of up-to-date risk assessments. These assessments are designed to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and establish clear measures to minimize or eliminate them, allowing our young people to enjoy their adventures with confidence.

Our risk assessments cover all aspects of scouting, from weekly meetings and local activities to camps and international trips. Each assessment is tailored to the specific nature of the activity, taking into account the environment, the equipment being used, and the abilities and needs of our members. This proactive approach helps us to create a safe environment where our Scouts can explore, learn, and grow.

We review and update our risk assessments regularly to ensure they reflect current guidance from the Scout Association and any changes in activity plans or external conditions. Leaders are trained to understand and implement these assessments, ensuring that everyone involved is aware of potential risks and the steps needed to mitigate them.
