The Mohawk Scout Troop is an integral part of the 12th Stafford Scout Group, providing an exciting and challenging programme for young people aged 10½ to 14. As Scouts, our members develop essential life skills, resilience, and teamwork through a wide range of adventurous activities, camps, and community projects.
At Mohawk Troop, we believe in learning by doing. Our Scouts take part in activities that push their boundaries, from camping under the stars to hiking, pioneering, and learning vital survival skills. We also embrace modern challenges, incorporating technology, problem-solving, and leadership development into our programme. Whether it’s canoeing down a river, navigating with a map and compass, or working towards badges that recognise personal achievements, there’s always something new to try.
Scouting isn’t just about adventure—it’s about making a difference. Our Scouts are encouraged to contribute to their local community, support charitable initiatives, and develop a sense of responsibility. The Mohawk Troop is a place where friendships are built, confidence grows, and young people are inspired to become the best version of themselves.
New members are always welcome, so if you're ready for adventure and want to be part of something special, get in touch and join the Mohawk Scout Troop today!
At 12th Stafford Scouts, we offer an exciting and varied programme designed to challenge, inspire, and develop essential life skills. Our Scouts take part in a wide range of activities, from learning traditional scouting skills like map reading, rope work, and campcraft to adventurous pursuits such as kayaking, hiking, and survival training. Earning badges is a big part of what we do, and our Scouts work towards a variety of achievements, covering everything from first aid and navigation to pioneering and environmental conservation. Whether it’s a campfire under the stars, a sleepover in a unique location, or a fast-paced game night, there’s always something new to experience.
We also love to add a creative twist to our adventures with themed camps, making our weekends away even more immersive and exciting. In recent years, we’ve hosted Star Wars, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, I’m a Celebrity, and SAS-style survival camps, where Scouts take on challenges inspired by their favourite films and shows. Beyond our regular camps, we venture further afield to explore stunning locations like North Wales and the Lake District, where our Scouts test their skills in real-world environments. Whether it’s scaling a mountain, paddling down a river, or learning to survive in the wild, our activities build confidence, teamwork, and resilience—while ensuring everyone has an unforgettable time!
